Do you need advice or services for yourself or a family member?

At Guardian Finance & Advocacy Services, we offer an umbrella of services to help with financial well-being and medical advocacy.

We support individuals in our community through several programs that support our mission: “To bring stability, dignity and optimum independence to all served."

Guardianship Services

Court Appointed

A legal guardian is appointed by the court for an individual deemed unable to make their own decisions. A guardian is primarily responsible for medical and placement decisions. Our clients are adults aged 18 and up with disabilities such as mental illness, traumatic brain injury, mental illness, dementia, and developmental disabilities.

Conservatorship Services

Court Appointed

A conservator is appointed by the court for an individual deemed unable to make their own financial decisions. A conservator is essentially the “guardian of the estate” and handles all financial matters for the individual. Clients are adults or minors with real estate, investments, or assets that need to be monitored by the court.

Representative Payee

Social Security Appointed

A representative payee is appointed by the Social Security Administration when an individual needs assistance to manage their government benefits.

The goal of a representative payee is to ensure that priority bills, such as rent and utilities, are paid each month.

Trust Management Services

Market-Based Services

Our organization serves as trustee for our pooled 1st party and 3rd party Special Needs Trusts. Our CEO can serve as trustee on individual trusts and D4A Special Needs Trusts. Special Needs Trusts allow funds to be set aside while maintaining public benefits.

Money Management Program

Market-Based Services

This program is focused on providing financial coaching for elders.
Our money management team can work with individuals, upon their request, to set up budgets, pay bills, and maximize the individual’s use of community resources.

Financial Power of Attorney

Market-Based Services

Power of Attorney (POA) is a legal act allowing one person to act on behalf of another in specified legal or financial matters.

Financial POA legally authorizes someone to act on an individual’s behalf in monetary matters.

Available Programs

Guardian Finance and Advocacy Services supports individuals in our community through several programs that can be combined to meet specific financial and decision-making needs. Support can be provided at any stage of life and may be temporary, ongoing, or permanent.

True Care Living has worked with Guardians Inc. for the last four years to provide housing and care to many of their clients.

They are a fantastic partner in caring for those in need. A tremendous group of hard-working and compassionate people who truly care for their clients.

Our client’s guardian was the one who identified the need for hospice and advocated for the client to get hospice involved.

Thanks to the guardian, we were able to provide comfort and compassion through hospice services for this client, who was declining and nearing the end of their life journey.

I feel good about having a representative payee. It relieves the stress about my bills being paid and it takes the worry away. I am treated with respect as a customer.
